Blaine
Owner, Designer, and Jeweler
I feel lucky to spend my days helping people celebrate life’s most meaningful moments with custom jewelry designed to tell their stories. I believe that jewelry is wearable art — each piece is a reflection of personal history, love, and self-expression. My journey started at the University of Kansas, where I earned a Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in metalsmithing and jewelry design, and it’s taken me through more than 20 years of working in Downtown Lawrence. At Kizer Cummings, I combine my love of design with my passion for working closely with clients to create pieces that are as unique as the people who wear them. When I’m not at the store, you’ll probably find me supporting the downtown community or spending time with my family.

GIA Graduate Gemologist, Designer, and Sales Lead
I get to help people commemorate their life’s biggest milestones with wearable art made of metal and gems. What an amazing job! I came to the jewelry industry, by fate or chance, with a lifelong fascination with minerals (particularly of the sparkly varieties) and a love of jewelry design. After over a decade at Kizer Cummings, I have learned so much about jewelry, gems, and people! I love to share my knowledge and passion for jewelry with others. When I’m not at work, you will likely find me gardening with a song stuck in my head or napping with a cat. Fun fact: my 4H geology display earned Grand Champion at the Allen County Fair in 1999.

See all those pretty pictures on the website and socials? Yeah that me! I make sure everything online and instore looks pretty and enticing! KCJ has been apart of my story for quite a while. From very part time in high school to coming back full time in my 20's, the team has cheered me on every step of the way! (Including when I ran away to Florida for three years) I will always feel extra lucky to call KCJ my home away from home.

Jeweler
I started my metal smithing career in production of hand fabricated sterling silver jewelry in KCMO. I fell in love with the process, finding flow and creating beautiful pieces that bring the wearer joy. I am so grateful my journey has landed me here with the best team to work with everyday at KCJ.
Joshua
Jeweler
I started my career as a jeweler immediately after highschool with an apprenticeship. 6 years later I’ve found a career with KCJ. I am so grateful to be a part of the family here and look forward to treating your pieces with attention and care, from creation to repair!
Jenny
Bookkeeper
I bring the vibes and the cute kids! I keep the backend of our store organized and all loose ends tied up. I help with vendor relations behind-the-scenes and aid with events held. I love being a part of KCJ! Blaine has always put his team members and customers first and foremost. I have never felt like an outsider since I joined the team. All members of our team bring a very valuable piece of themselves and we all fit together!
