Ernie loves to travel and finds inspiration in photography, art museums and travel. He loves that he gets to do what he is passionate about and that each day brings new challenges and surprises. As a gemology graduate from GIA, he brings a wealth of knowledge in gems, diamonds and jewelry to the table. Ernie has over 33 years of experience helping to bring dreams to fruition. His favorite piece of jewelry is his star sapphire ring and plans to wear it on a trip around the world. Ernie truly lives the motto, “when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life!”
Erica is in love with the world of diamonds, gemstones, and jewelry. A lifelong interest in gemology and a chance meeting with Ernie Cummings led her to pursue a career in jewelry and a Diamond Graduate degree from the Gemological Institute of America. She is currently working toward her Graduate Gemologist degree. She is passionate about uniting people with the beauty of gemstones and diamonds, informing and educating, and helping them find or create the perfect piece to meet their desires. Her favorite gemstone is red spinel, a striking but lesser-known rival to beautiful red ruby.
Blaine is known for his creativity and passion for helping people create the jewelry piece of their dreams. He joined the Kizer Cummings family 11 years ago after obtaining his design degree from KU. He puts his degree to work when he is designing something new out of a piece of heirloom jewelry. He has his eye on a Bulova watch, but his wedding band is his favorite piece he owns. Which makes sense once you meet his beautiful wife and two adorable kids! When he isn’t designing gorgeous pieces you can find him playing with his children, hanging out with his chickens or trying something new in the kitchen to hold onto his “foodie” status.
Bianca has her eye on a very original piece for her “Wish List” item—an estate platinum 5 marquise ring. She says that it is simple yet fancy, just the way she likes it. And she knows her stuff when it comes to jewelry after receiving her BFA from the University of Kansas in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design (plus a minor in Art History)!! Bianca truly loves learning about the jewelry industry including continuing her education about diamonds, colored stones and pearls. She also loves to see the look on the customer’s face when they see their engagement ring for the first time. Bianca is originally from Memphis but is happy to call Lawrence home and enjoys shopping at local boutiques in her spare time.
Abby is originally from Washington, MO and is currently a senior at the University of Kansas studying architecture. Her love of drawing and painting fits in perfectly with her work at Kizer Cummings as she loves to help sketch and design custom pieces for her customers. Her favorite piece of jewelry is a violet sapphire ring she helped design using the CAD design program. When Abby isn’t studying or watching the Chiefs she is admiring her “Wish List” item at Kizer Cummings - a 3 carat European cut cluster ring.
Nicole loves the family environment of Kizer Cummings and has been inspired by her work to get GIA certified. After she finishes her undergraduate in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design from KU, of course! She loves to wear her garnet stud earrings but dreams of someday owning the custom, vintage-inspired engagement ring designed by co-worker Abby.
